Vreeland presented this as a paper to a gathering of prestegious theologians, who did not refute or reject it. And to my knowledge, no other theologian has written a paper refuting his.

That the Word of Faith message, and Kenneth Hagin should have to be defended at all is a sign of the times in which we live.

Today in politics, everyone demonizes their opponent to the point where a civil word is rarely exchanged anymore. Loving the world, rather than Christ, we have patterned ourselves after the world’s ways. We used to view other Christian brethren as sincere men, whose ministries bear good fruit, but with which we do not entirely agree on non-salvation related issues. Now we denounce other brethren as little more than heretics personally anointed and commissioned by Satan himself to destroy the “true” Christian faith–which of course, only we and our little group truly represent.

Our current definition of “heretic” is “anyone who disagrees with me, or who isn’t approved of by my group’s home office.” While our time is consumed with slinging the h-word (heretic!) at each other, a lost and dying world goes to Hell every day.

And the angels weep….

And so shall we, when we stand before Christ someday and give an account to Him for the awful things we have called each other.

Something about which we should all stop and think.
