  • My Biography

I never knew Dad Goodwin, he went to be with the Lord many years ago. But I knew Mom Goodwin very well. For the last ten years of her life, she was my mentor and friend. I visited with her in her home a number of times, and we exchanged many phone calls and letters. The last time I was at Sister Goodwin's home, she laid her hands on me. God chose to begin using me in the way the Goodwins had been used in speaking in tongues, acting out the message, and interpreting. Other gifts began operating also. I've ministered pastorally or prophetically, part time or full time for 25 years. I believe God's calling on my life is to pick up the Goodwins' mantle and teach and demonstrate spiritual gifts in the same scriptural, balanced, and genuine way that they did. If you knew the Goodwins and wish to share your testimony with me, or if you have questions, please contact me at admin@brothermel.com. Kind Regards, Brother Mel

The Goodwins set a sterling example of excellence in ministry, in doctrine, in character, and in love. I deeply respect their ministry and the tremendous contribution they made to the Charismatic branch of the Body of Christ.

The statements published on this blog are accurate to the best of my knowledge and research. But I do not pretend to speak for what Mom and Dad Goodwin would approve of or disapprove of if they were still alive.

Athough I am in communication with Dr. Charles Goodwin, Grace Gruver, and others who were close with the Goodwins, and count them as friends, I do not represent the Goodwin family in any official capacity.  On this blog, I am simply expressing my own thoughts, understanding, and observations of the Goodwins’ lives and ministries.

I wish to express my sincere gratitude to:  Dr. Charles Goodwin, Grace Gruver, Dodie Osteen, Rev. Don and Beverly Davis, Rev. Joe Jordan, and Rev. Ron Sirkel for the information and encouragement they have provided for this blog.

And I thank also Kenneth Copeland Ministries, the late Kenneth Hagin, and the Flower Heritage Pentecostal Museum, for preserving and sharing with me Goodwin ministry materials and records.

     Kind Regards,

     Mel C. Montgomery
