    I never knew Dad Goodwin, he went to be with the Lord many years ago. But I knew Mom Goodwin very well. For the last ten years of her life, she was my mentor and friend. I visited with her in her home a number of times, and we exchanged many phone calls and letters. The last time I was at Sister Goodwin's home, she laid her hands on me. God chose to begin using me in the way the Goodwins had been used in speaking in tongues, acting out the message, and interpreting. Other gifts began operating also. I've ministered pastorally or prophetically, part time or full time for 25 years. I believe God's calling on my life is to pick up the Goodwins' mantle and teach and demonstrate spiritual gifts in the same scriptural, balanced, and genuine way that they did. Principles of Genuine Prophetic Ministry

     I appreciate deeply the time God gave me with Mom Goodwin.  It was my honor to help Joe Jordan write the Goodwin biography.  And it is a labor of love any time I can help to preserve the Goodwins balanced, excellent teachings and share them with others.  This blog is dedicated to preserving and sharing the teachings of the Goodwins.  And I include on this blog only the material I read or heard the Goodwins teach or demonstrate.

     But there is a desperate need in the Body of Christ, among Charismatics, for additional balanced teachings and materials on prophetic ministry.  Sadly, other than books and materials created before the 1980’s, I am unaware of any books or tapes currently available that focus on genuine prophetic ministry in a scriptural, balanced manner.

     In the absence of scriptural teachings, many sincere Christians have slowly fallen off into extremes and are convinced that such extremes exemplify true prophetic ministry.  They do not.

     I desire to share with other believers the principles I have learned concerning genuine prophetic ministry.  Some of these principles I learned directly from Mom Goodwin.  But some of them I have discovered on my own over the years I have flowed prophetically.  And while I believe these I learned on my own to be consistent also with what I know the Goodwins specifically taught, never-the-less I have chosen to keep my teachings separate from theirs.
